Notes

Disney Lorcana cards are standard trading-card size (63.5x88mm), identical to Magic and Pokémon, so any Standard Card Game sleeve (66x91 outer — Dragon Shield, Ultra Pro, KMC, etc.) fits. A single Constructed deck is 60 cards, but total collection size is open-ended and grows with every set, so most players sleeve by the deck (a 60- or 65-count pack per deck) rather than the whole collection. Because these are shuffled competitively, go for a durable perfect-fit inner plus a textured outer if you play in tournaments.

Why you see three different measurements online

Search for this and you will get 63 × 88 mm, 63.5 × 88 mm, and 64 × 89 mm from three different pages. They are all describing the same card. Standard trading-card stock is 63.5 × 88 mm (2.5 × 3.5 inches), and the variation comes from rounding and from people measuring a card that has been in a deck box. Nothing about Lorcana is a special size: it is the same stock as Magic and Pokémon, so anything sold as standard, regular, or “for MTG/Pokémon” fits. If you already sleeve another TCG, the sleeves in your drawer work.

Which sleeves are legal in tournaments

This is where Lorcana differs from a board game, and it is worth getting right before you buy 300 sleeves. Ravensburger's tournament rules require that:

  • Every sleeve in the deck is identical — one design, one colour, one thickness.
  • The backs are fully opaque. Clear or translucent backs are not legal for constructed play.
  • Sleeves are free of markings and wear. A scuffed or nicked sleeve can be read as a marked card, so a worn set gets replaced, not patched.
  • No suggestive, indecent, or offensive imagery.
  • Inner sleeves are allowed, and they are the one exception to the opaque-back rule.
  • The tournament official has the final say, whatever the packaging claims.

Double-sleeving, and what it costs you

Double-sleeving means a snug perfect-fit inner sleeve on the card, then a standard opaque outer over that. Competitive players do it because the inner sleeve takes the shuffle wear and seals the card against spills, while the outer stays legal and replaceable. The cost is bulk: a 60-card deck that fits a 80-count deck box single-sleeved will not close in the same box once it is double-sleeved, so size the box up at the same time you buy the sleeves. For kitchen-table play it is overkill — a single good matte sleeve is enough.

Official Ravensburger sleeves vs third-party

Ravensburger sells Lorcana-branded sleeves in 65-count packs with character art, which is a deliberate match for the 60-card deck plus a few spares. They are legal and they look right at a Lorcana table. What they are not is the most durable option: the usual complaint is that the finish wears and the edges split sooner than a Dragon Shield or Ultimate Guard sleeve under tournament-level shuffling. A reasonable split is official art sleeves for the deck you show off and a hard-wearing third-party sleeve for the deck you grind with. If you love a particular art sleeve, an oversized sleeve over the top protects the sleeve itself.

Oversized and promo cards do not fit

Gift sets and some promos include oversized display cards, and standard sleeves will not go near them. Reported dimensions for these vary quite a bit depending on which product they came from, so measure the card you actually have rather than trusting a number from a forum post, then buy an oversized sleeve to match — the 5 × 7 inch photo sleeves are the usual answer. This is the same rule the rest of this site runs on: buy by measured size, not by game name.

The same sleeves fit these games

Sleeves come in packs of 100 and Disney Lorcana will not use a whole pack, so it is worth knowing what else the spares cover.

Not every game is standard: Dixit (79 × 120 mm) and Faraway (70 × 70 mm and 44 × 68 mm) need their own size.

Frequently asked questions

What size are Disney Lorcana cards?

Disney Lorcana cards are 63.5 × 88 mm.

What size sleeves does Disney Lorcana use?

Disney Lorcana uses Standard Card Game (63.5 × 88 mm) sleeves.

How many sleeves do I need for Disney Lorcana?

Disney Lorcana's base game has 60 cards to sleeve. Allowing a few spares, that is about 63 sleeves: 63 Standard Card Game (1 pack of 100). Expansions add more — use the Sleeve Count Calculator to total several games at once.

Are Disney Lorcana cards the same size as Pokémon and Magic cards?

Yes. Lorcana uses standard trading-card stock at 63.5 × 88 mm (2.5 × 3.5 inches), the same as Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon, so standard-size sleeves for either game fit Lorcana without any adjustment.

What sleeves are legal in Disney Lorcana tournaments?

Ravensburger's tournament rules require every sleeve in the deck to be identical, with fully opaque backs, free of markings and wear, and without offensive imagery. Inner sleeves are permitted and are exempt from the opaque-back requirement. The tournament official is the final arbiter, so check the current rules document before an event.

Should I double-sleeve a Lorcana deck?

Only if you play competitively. A perfect-fit inner plus a standard opaque outer protects against shuffle wear and spills, but it adds real bulk — a double-sleeved 60-card deck needs a larger deck box than the same deck single-sleeved. For casual play a single matte sleeve is enough.

Do the official Ravensburger Lorcana sleeves fit standard cards?

Yes. The official Lorcana sleeves are standard size and come in 65-count packs, which covers a 60-card deck with spares. They are tournament legal, though heavy shufflers generally find third-party sleeves such as Dragon Shield or Ultimate Guard last longer.
