About The Cardboard Shelf

Honest, research-driven advice for organizing, storing, and protecting your board game collection.

What this site is

The Cardboard Shelf is a small, independent project about the unglamorous half of the hobby: where games live between sessions, how to set them up fast, and what actually keeps components from getting lost or crushed. Every guide is written to help you decide what to buy — or whether you need to buy anything at all.

How we recommend products

Recommendations are based on manufacturer specs, the tabletop community’s collective experience, and the practical tradeoffs of each accessory type. We don’t publish fabricated test results, fake reviews, or invented ratings. When a budget option does the job, we say so.

How the site is funded

Some links go to Amazon, where we earn a small commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. That’s what keeps the site running, and it never changes which products we recommend. The Cardboard Shelf is an independent project and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher or manufacturer.
