How many sleeves to buy
- Standard American: 120 cards + a few spares ≈ 126 sleeves — 2 packs of 100.
Counts include a ~5% spare buffer. Mixing multiple games? Use the Sleeve Count Calculator.
Notes
The base box also includes 4 Building Costs reference cards and 2 special cards (Longest Road / Largest Army), so a full count is ~126; only the 120 shuffled resource/development cards are worth sleeving. Cards run a touch short (~56x82) but Standard American (56x87) is the accepted community fit. The 5-6 player extension and 6th-edition replacement set change counts (154 cards).

The same sleeves fit these games
Sleeves come in packs of 100 and Catan will not use a whole pack, so it is worth knowing what else the spares cover.
- Flip 7 — 56 × 87 mm
- Great Western Trail (Second Edition) — 56 × 87 mm
- Heat: Pedal to the Metal — 56 × 87 mm
- Monopoly Deal Card Game — 56 × 87 mm
Not every game is standard: Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (59 × 86 mm) and 7 Wonders (65 × 100 mm) need their own size.
